Nicolas Riche holds a Bachelor’s (2008), a Master’s (2010) and a PhD (2015) degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mons. His master thesis was performed at the University of Montreal and dealt with automatic analysis of the articulatory parameters for the production of piano timbre. He obtained a FRIA grant for pursuing a PhD thesis about the implementation of a model of visual attention. More details on Computational Attention can be found on this dedicated page. He defended his PhD thesis in applied sciences at the University of Mons on November 04, 2015. From September 2012 to June 2015, he also acquired a master’s degree in management at the Louvain School of Management.

Since 2013, he has been teaching practical classes on signal processing (biomedical and audio signals) at University of Mons as well as at Marie Haps Institute, and took part in Creactifs Pure Data courses at the Numediart Institute for creative technologies of the University of Mons. He is interested in using his skills in signal processing and computer vision to pursue his research as well as applying them to more applied domains (financial products).

He started a new job at ING bank in 2016.
